Spa software has a harder job than salon software. Services run 60 to 120 minutes, regulars book weeks ahead, and every therapist is paid differently. One empty 90-minute slot costs more than a whole morning of quick services, so reminders and a clean calendar matter more than anything flashy.

This guide compares the main options on what a day spa actually uses, with real prices for a spa with 5 therapists and one location. (New to this? Start with what to look for in a spa booking system.)

What day spas need from software

Online booking built for longer services

Clients should book a 90-minute massage or a facial from your website, Instagram or Google profile, pick their therapist, and get a confirmation right away. Look for booking that respects each service's length and each therapist's real hours.

Text reminders and booking confirmations

A text the day before is the simplest way to cut no-shows. Check how many texts are included, because several tools give you a small allowance and charge per message after that.

Commissions that work themselves out

Spas often pay therapists different rates for massages, facials and retail. Software that works out commissions at checkout saves hours every payday. Watch which plan includes it: on some tools it's the most expensive tier.

Rooms, packages and forms

Busy day spas may also want room and equipment booking, packages and gift cards, and intake forms. If you run a few rooms with a steady team, a clear calendar usually does the job. If you schedule couples suites and machines every hour, it's worth paying for a tool built around rooms.

Pricing you can predict

Watch for add-ons, sales-call pricing, contracts, and fees on new clients from a marketplace. They're where a $30 starting price turns into a $150 bill.

SupaDay: best all-in-one value for small spas

SupaDay puts everything a small day spa runs on into one plan: online booking, text reminders (500 a month) and booking confirmations, repeat appointments for regulars, therapist commissions worked out at checkout, tips and split payments, staff schedules, sales reports and a change log of who edited what. It's $14 a month per therapist and stops at $99 for up to 10 people, so a 5-therapist spa pays $70 and never buys an add-on. There's no contract, no fee on new clients, and a 30-day free trial with no card. (See how it works on the spa software page.)

Best for: small and mid-size day spas, massage studios and facial studios that want one simple price. Why spas pick it: commissions and 500 texts are included from the first therapist, where several tools put commissions on their top plans or sell payroll as an add-on.

Mangomint: built around rooms

Mangomint is $120 per location plus $10 per user, so a 5-therapist spa pays $170, plus $10 for each front-desk login. Room and equipment booking, packages, memberships, gift cards and intake forms are all included, with unlimited reminders. Phone ($70 a line), marketing (from $30) and payroll ($50 + $8 per worker) are add-ons. (Compare: SupaDay vs Mangomint for spas.)

Best for: busy spas that book rooms and machines all day. Watch out for: deposits and cards on file only work with Mangomint's own card processing (2.45% + 15¢).

Boulevard: premium spas with a sales team behind them

Boulevard Essentials is $143 a month for one location and up to 5 providers, and the Forms add-on is $65 a month per location, so about $208. Premier is $234 a month per location on a limited-time offer for new customers (normally $293) and adds unlimited providers, shared memberships and more. Automated Campaigns are billed at $2 per completed appointment and are not included in any plan (Boulevard prices from joinblvd.com/pricing, read 3 November 2026). Rooms, packages, deposits and commissions are on every plan, with 250 two-way texts. (Compare: SupaDay vs Boulevard for spas.)

Best for: upscale spas that want a polished client experience and can pay for it. Watch out for: Essentials stops at 5 providers, so a 6th therapist means Premier, and every plan starts with a sales demo.

Square Appointments: cheapest way to start

Square's free plan covers online booking, automatic text and email reminders, and deposits for one location. Plus ($49) adds commissions, packages, no-show fees and booking for more than one therapist at a time. Room booking needs Premium ($149). Cards cost 2.5% + 15¢ on Plus. (Full review: is Square Appointments good for salons?)

Best for: new spas, and spas already using Square for retail. Watch out for: payroll is extra ($35 + $6 per person), and room booking means jumping from $49 to $149.

Fresha: low monthly price, fee on new clients

Fresha's Team plan is $14.95 per bookable member, about $75 for 5 therapists. Rooms, packages, deposits and consultation forms are included. Each member gets 100 free texts a month, then 2¢ each. Fresha takes 20% of a new client's first booking from its marketplace, minimum $6. (Compare: SupaDay vs Fresha for spas.)

Best for: spas that want marketplace bookings. Watch out for: on a $150 treatment, a 20% fee is $30. Add-ons like reports, loyalty and a website add up too.

DaySmart Spa: a spa-only veteran

DaySmart Spa is software made only for spas and salons. Deluxe is $69 for 3 users plus $9 for each extra user, about $87 for 5 therapists, with digital forms, online deposits and texts by plan.

Best for: spas that want a long-established, spa-only tool. Watch out for: two-way texting, text marketing and QuickBooks are add-ons on lower plans.

Vagaro: lots of features, lots of add-ons

Vagaro is $30 for the first calendar plus $10 for each one after, $70 for 5 therapists. Spas usually add Forms ($10) and the online Shopping Cart ($10) for deposits and cancellation fees, so about $90, and $110 with text marketing ($20). Payroll is $34 + $5 per employee. (Compare: SupaDay vs Vagaro for spas.)

Best for: spas that want many tools in one app and a marketplace listing. Watch out for: add-ons are billed ahead, so you pay for the next cycle even after you cancel one.

GlossGenius: polished, but commissions cost extra

GlossGenius Gold is $56 a month for up to 9 staff, with room booking, deposits and SOAP notes. Commissions are only on Platinum at $168. Cards cost 2.4% + 15¢. (Compare: SupaDay vs GlossGenius for spas.)

Best for: solo estheticians and small spas that don't pay commission. Watch out for: a spa paying therapists on commission needs the $168 plan.

Mindbody: wellness and classes

Mindbody Starter is from $79 a month per location, but text reminders and room booking need Accelerate, whose price isn't published. Its marketplace takes 20% of a new client's first purchase, capped at $30. (Compare: SupaDay vs Mindbody for spas, or see whether Mindbody is worth it.)

Best for: spas that also run yoga, fitness or wellness classes. Watch out for: the plan a spa really needs is quote-only.

Zenoti: for chains

Zenoti is built for multi-location spa and salon chains, and every plan is quote-only. (More options for chains: best salon software for multiple locations.)

Best for: chains with many locations and a head office. Watch out for: no published pricing, and far more than a single day spa needs.

How to choose

  • Small day spa, massage or facial studio: SupaDay. Everything on one plan at $14 per therapist, capped at $99.
  • Many rooms and machines booked every hour: Mangomint or Boulevard, if the budget allows $170 to $208 a month.
  • Just opening, keeping costs at zero: Square's free plan, then Plus at $49 when you hire.
  • Want marketplace clients: Fresha, as long as the 20% first-visit fee works for your prices.
  • Spa plus classes: Mindbody.

Whatever you pick, run a busy weekend through the free trial before you move your client list. (Comparing Vagaro specifically? See the best Vagaro alternatives for spas.)

The bottom line

The best spa software is the one your team uses every day without add-ons creeping into the bill. Big room-heavy spas get a lot from Mangomint and Boulevard, and pay for it. Most small day spas need booking, reminders, confirmations, commissions and checkout to just work, and SupaDay puts all of that on one plan at $14 a month per therapist, capped at $99.
