How to Add and Manage Multiple Salon Locations

Business plan4 min readUpdated

Quick answer

On the Business plan, click More → Locations and then Add Location. Enter the Location Name, the Business Address and the Time Zone, and click Add Location. Switch between locations with the location menu in the top bar (Switch Location). Use Deactivate or Reactivate on the Locations page to close or reopen one.

Open in SupaDay

If you run more than one salon, each one can be its own location under one SupaDay account. You sign in once, switch between locations from the top bar, and pay one bill for the whole account.

What each location has

Every location keeps its own:

  • Calendar, bookings and walk-in turn tracker
  • Services and prices
  • Clients
  • Business hours, settings and time zone
  • Booking page and link
  • Staff list, staff roles and working hours
  • Stripe account and card readers

Your plan, your bill and your staff seats cover the whole account.

Before you add a location

  • Business plan. Grow allows one active location. If you're on Grow, the Locations page says so and shows View Plans. Upgrade from More → Billing first. See billing and plans.
  • Account owner. Only the person who owns the account sees Locations in the menu.
  • Confirmed email. You need to have confirmed your email address before you can add a location.

Add a new location

  1. Click More in the top menu and choose Locations (under Settings & Billing).
  2. Click Add Location. The page says Adding a location to your account's name.
  3. Type the Location Name, for example "Downtown Salon".
  4. Fill in the Business Address: Address Line 1, Address Line 2 (optional), City, State / Region, Postal Code and Country.
  5. Check the Time Zone.
  6. Click Add Location.

SupaDay switches you into the new location and shows "New location added successfully!" It starts empty, so add its services, hours and staff next. The first-time setup guides cover each step.

Switch between locations

The location menu sits in the top bar, to the left of your avatar. It shows the location you're in.

  1. Click the location menu (it reads Switch Location when nothing is picked).
  2. Choose another location from the list.
  3. The page reloads in that location.

On phones, open More. The Location menu is at the top. Every admin and manager sees the switcher, even with only one location. For the account owner, the list also has Add Location at the bottom.

Share staff between locations

One person can work at several locations with the same login. Invite them from Team → Staff in each location using the same email address. They accept each invitation and then switch locations like you do.

Their role and working hours are set separately at each location. Someone can be a manager at one salon and a provider at another, with different days at each.

Deactivate or reactivate a location

On the Locations page, each location shows Active or Inactive, its staff count, and Current next to the one you're in.

  1. Click Deactivate next to the location. It isn't shown for the location you're in, so switch to another location first.
  2. Confirm with Yes, deactivate. Its booking page and staff access for that location turn off.
  3. To bring it back, click Reactivate.

You must keep at least one active location. Reactivating a second location needs the Business plan.

Heads up: If your account stops being on Business (for example, the subscription ends) while more than one location is active, the Locations page shows Action required. Deactivate the extra locations to avoid interruptions.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a second location cost?

There's no fee per location. On Business you pay $22 per active staff member a month across all locations, with a minimum of 3 staff ($66 a month), and never more than $149 a month in total.

Do clients from one location show up at the other?

No. Each location has its own client list, bookings and services. A client who visits both locations has a profile at each.

Why don't I see Locations in the More menu?

Only the account owner sees Locations. If you're the owner and still can't add one, check that you're on the Business plan and that your email is confirmed.

Does each location get its own booking link?

Yes. Each location has its own booking page, made from the location name when you add it. Share each link separately on that salon's Instagram and Google listing.

Can a staff member work at two locations without paying twice?

Yes. Seats count each active person once across the whole account, so someone who works at two locations uses one seat.
