How SMS and Email Reminders Work

SupaDay automatically sends appointment reminders to your clients — no setup required. Reminders go out at two fixed times before each appointment.

When reminders are sent

  • 24 hours before — sent via both email and SMS (if the client has a phone number on file)
  • 1 hour before — sent via both email and SMS

These times are automatic and can't be changed. Each client receives at most one reminder per time window to avoid duplicates.

Who receives reminders

Clients receive both email and SMS reminders automatically — as long as they have an email address or phone number on file and their notification preferences are turned on.

Staff receive email notifications (not SMS) when bookings are created, updated, or cancelled for them. Staff can turn this on or off from their profile.

Staff notification preferences

Each staff member controls their own email notifications:

  1. Go to your Profile (click your avatar in the top-right corner)
  2. Expand the Notifications section
  3. Toggle Email notifications on or off

SMS reminders are not sent to staff — only to clients.

SMS credits

SMS reminders use your team's pooled SMS credits. The Grow plan includes 500 SMS credits per month. The Business plan includes 2,000.

Tips

  • Make sure your clients' phone numbers are on file — SMS reminders only go out if there's a number
  • Clients can opt out of SMS from their notification preferences
