How to Set Up QR Code Check-in

QR code check-in lets walk-in clients scan a code at your front desk, choose their service and preferred tech, and join the waiting list — all from their phone, no app needed.

Enable QR check-in

  1. Go to Turns & Checkins in the navigation
  2. Click the gear icon to open Turn Tracker Settings
  3. Under Customer Check-in, toggle Enable QR Code Check-in on

A QR code and your check-in URL appear immediately.

Print the QR code

Click Download QR Code to get a printable page with your salon name, the QR code, and instructions ("Scan to Check In"). Print it and place it where clients can see it when they walk in — on the front counter, near the door, or on a stand.

You can also copy the check-in URL directly and share it however you like.

What clients see when they scan

Clients scan the QR code with their phone camera and see three options:

"I Have an Appointment"

The client types their phone number on a keypad. The system looks up today's appointments:

  • Found: Shows a welcome message with their name and appointment details. They tap Check In and their provider is notified
  • Not found: The client can still check in by entering their name and tapping I'm Here — staff sees them in the queue

"I'd Like a Specific Technician"

The client enters their name (required), picks a tech from the grid (required), and optionally selects a service. They tap Join Waiting List and appear in your check-in queue.

"Anyone Available"

The client enters their name (required), optionally picks a service, and taps Join Waiting List. The turn tracker assigns them to the next available tech.

Where check-ins appear

All check-ins show up on the Turns & Checkins page in the Customer Check-in Queue column. Walk-ins show as waiting with their name, service, preferred tech, and wait time. Appointment check-ins show as checked in with their booking details.

Staff can mark a walk-in as Served when they're taken, or remove them from the queue with the X button.

Tips

  • Place the QR code at eye level where clients naturally look when they walk in
  • The check-in page is branded with your salon name and logo — no SupaDay branding visible to clients
  • No app download required — the QR code opens a mobile web page
